Cronin’s Books and Bits is a family run business selling books, gifts, toys and stationery.
The staff consists of Sharon and Lianne, a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law team. We met through Sharon's son (now Lianne's husband) and also worked with each other in different stores. But our working relationship has blossomed due to a mutual love of books and reading.
When we worked for one of the many other companies together, we would often talk about opening our own bookshop/coffee shop where we could create a friendly environment where people could come and read a good book whilst enjoying a hot cup of tea or coffee (and a cake or two!) Although this time around we haven't gone down the coffee shop route, we aim to create a warm, friendly place where people can come and lose themselves for an hour or so, browsing our products and talking with the staff. We want to create a place where the customer and the community come first, things that big companies often forget.
Our promise to our customers is that our store will always be friendly, our prices will be fair and our products will be a bit different. We also aim to source our products ethically and from other small businesses. Where we can, we hope to be able to give back to our local community and support local charities.
