Our Recommendations
Here you'll find a small selection of the books and/or gifts that we personally recommend.

The Age of Miracles - Karen Thompson Walker
An excellent dystopian read but without the usual depression that comes with a book about something awful happening to the world. Interesting take on how people adjust to massive life upheavals, from the point of view of a young girl. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I've read it twice now. It's got a hazy summer feel to the writing, which is similar to that of Eden Close by Anita Shreve which is one of my favourites. However, don't be fooled into thinking it's a hazy summer read, because it is not. - Lianne

The I-5 Killer - Ann Rule
If you like books about true crime or serial killers, or even just horror in general, then anything by Ann Rule is for you. She has a way of writing that fully sucks you in, devouring each page like you haven't been fed in weeks. And then she'll smack you in the face by reminding you that this isn't some twisted fairy tale that she's writing about. It's true. These monsters were people who walked amongst us. She doesn't write with the usual tecnical jargon that some writers do, she explains what's going on on your level. Anything by Ann Rule is a "Must Read" and The I-5 Killer is no exception, - Lianne
